Christmas 2010

With the move approaching quickly I didn't spend much time decorating this year so after a great Christmas Eve dinner at Kim and Mark's we spent the night at Tim's parents house and shared Christmas morning with them. It was a great time and Santa was good to everyone.
After Jake got over the fact that he was woken up way too early, he loved his Apple keyboard and other accessories.

Kyle loved his scooter, but with the snow storm the night before he has not been able to take it for a spin yet!

Tyler was still the most excited this year and had a hard time sleeping. He mostly wanted Xbox stuff and was a great sport about waiting to use all his new toys until we were home.

Tim loved his new Oakley's and, although there are no pictures of me, (I was in charge of picture taking!) I got some fun new clothes!

Alison got lots of fun things and although she doesn't look too excited she loved her new vest!

Grandma Kathy does not like her picture taken, but is happy with her new Ipad.

And Gramps finally got his Bluray he's been talking about for a year now:)

It was a fun and exhausting day! Kyle only made it through a few bites of dinner before he crashed on the couch with his new football.

Happy Holidays!

This is a great video our family watched on Christmas Eve. Hope you enjoy it and have a very Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving Day 2010
We spent the holiday in South Carolina with Jimmy and Michelle. Dinner turned out very good considering Jimmy and I were in charge of the entire meal. Tim arrived from Brazil that morning and Michelle came home from the hospital with baby number four shortly after that.
Kyle likes rolls and potatoes!
Ty and Talon
yum yum!
All the kids enjoyed the four wheelers!
It can get a little crazy around here, but my kids love every minute of it!
Baby Clay is a very good baby. So Sweet!
Until I started bugging him. I just couldn't resist. He was just way too cute!
Thanks Blasers! We had a great Holiday with Ya'll!

Sorocaba has Mc Donalds!
This may not seem like a big deal to others, but we happen to be big fans. It was also the fanciest Micky D's I've ever seen. I know it will be important for the kids to see places that look familiar so although the drinks are served without ice, and some of the menu items I've never heard of, I'm sure we will visit this place often!
The most shocking thing to me was the fact one minute you can be in a really nice area, but around the corner you might be afraid to get out of your car! Yikes!
Tim just laughs at me. He thinks everything is no big deal and very safe, but this will take some getting use to for me!

Rest and Relaxation
Doctors orders!

The past couple of weeks have been full of doctor visits and medication. Tim had glaucoma surgery a couple of weeks ago. His eye seems to be doing good. He took a week off work and I took care of him while he snuggled up on the couch for days. I was completely jealous, but knew my time was coming. Last week I had a hysterectomy. The first 48 hours were pretty rough, but after that it's been smooth sailing. My mom (Grandma Lou) was able to come out for a week to help take care of us. She cooked all my favorite childhood meals and treats. The kids really loved that. Especially Alison who constantly wants to hear stories about when I was a kid. I am enjoying the fact that I'm staying in my pj's all day long and those pain pills are not so bad either. :) We are trying to get all our major medical issues out of the way so once in Brazil we can take our time finding new doctors etc, etc.....

I finally was able to visit Brazil for my first time. The company Tim works for would like to transfer him there for the next three years. It was time for me to check it out and see if I think we could survive there. After the initial culture shock I thought it was a okay place.

This is a picture of the city of Sorocaba.

Next stop was to visit the school.

The kids will attend an all Portuguese curriculum private school. It sounds scary to me, but everyone told us the kids will be fluent within 4 to 6 months. I hope they're right!!

ESCOLA OBJETIVO

Next we spent a couple of days looking at houses. This one is our favorite so far. It is in a very safe gated community and when they say gated they mean armed guards and razor wire around the entire neighborhood.

I felt save inside the community, but driving around was a different story. It will take a little time to adjust! Overall it was a fun trip and we are looking forward to our new adventure!!

Tim's home away from home.

Tim has been traveling on and off for several years. He seems to be spending more and more time in Brazil. This trip is a longer than most and the kids and I miss him. We are proud of all his hard work to support our family!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Alison and I both had our birthdays last week. First we celebrated with the family at Tim and Kathy's. Cake and ice cream for everyone.

Tim and the Kids bought me a Nook. I've been hoping for one for a while now. I have already downloaded and read three books.
I LOVE IT!!
On Ali's birthday we went to Chevy's with the Frazier family. Ali got an I-pod touch. She was totally surprised! It was a fun night!

Alison turned 11 and I am 38. Time flies when your having fun!!

When Ali was born i was told to go to the hospital on the 20th (which is the same day as my birthday) but the hospital was full so it was postponed till the 21st. I'm glad we each have our own day to celebrate. It makes for more parties and fun!

Happy Birthday my sweet girl!

Just before school started we decided to take a last minute trip to Kansas City!

We started our vacation in Kirkwood Missouri where we boarded our train. I've been wanting to take the kids for a train ride since Jake and Tyler where little and loved Thomas the tank engine so much. It was a five hour ride with lots of beautiful scenery.

Ty wasn't too impressed, but he was comfortable!

We spent a day at Crown Center where we shopped and spent time at the Crayola Factory.

But I think all the kids would agree that the Basketball Museum was a favorite.
We spent a whole day at that place.

Tim joined us on Friday and took the older boys to the Harley motorcycle factory.
Then we headed home. We stopped at two church history sites on the way.
Liberty Jail, where the Prophet Joseph Smith was held and the visitors center in Independence Missouri.

It was a fun weekend, but it made me realize the kids are ready to start school. They were bugging each other the entire time. I guess summer can't last forever!

MANCHESTER POOL 2010
We spent a lot of our summer hanging out at the Manchester pool. Jake was hired on as a lifeguard and enjoyed earning a paycheck.
All the kids love the diving board!

Kyle learned to dive and Tyler learned to flip.

The pool closed last weekend which is such a sad time for us. Can't wait till next Summer!!

Tim and I spent a short and sweet weekend in San Diego for Kiley's wedding ( tim's brothers daughter). She and Scotty were married in the San Diego temple July 24th. It was very fun seeing The family and enjoying that great weather!

The wedding was beautiful! Congratulations you cute couple!

SUMMER VACATION 2010
YELLOWSTONE

First stop was the Baddlands of South Dakota.

Then on to Bear Country where the bears were so close you could almost touch them. We were instructed to keep our windows rolled up at all times. We obeyed the rules most of the times!

Mount Rushmore was next. Kyle had been learning about the presidents this year in the first grade so he told us all about these famous men on the mountain. It was cold and rainy, but worth the stop!

The Falls in Yellowstone. What a hike!! didn't know if i'd make it out!

Fishing with Grandpa

The views were amazing!

But most of all we enjoyed just hanging out with family and lots of rest and relaxation.
